Pluto TV’s ‘Free Movie Weekend’ Champions Independent Theaters and Honors the Movie-Going Experience with In-Person Experience at the Capitol Theatre
Thanks to our friends at PlutoTV, all movies are FREE August 17-18 at the Capitol Theatre here in Arlington, MA.
The Capitol Theatre is one of 14 independent movie theaters across the country that were selected for this year’s “Summer of Cinema” event.
What can you expect? FREE MOVIE TICKETS! Seriously, every screening will be free on August 17 & 18. To get your ticket, just come to the theater this weekend! There will be no online ticket reservations for the free movie weekend, but our complete weekend film schedule is below to help you plan.
There will also be giveaways and fun activities in our lobby to honor the magic of cinema and to encourage support of your favorite historic theater (hint: that’s us).
What’s Playing
The project is a part of Pluto’s ongoing Business Karma initiative, which aims to give back and pay it forward to local communities and businesses. Created in 2021, the “Free Movie Weekend” was designed to bolster local cinemas and encourage patrons to return to the movies after a harrowing year of closures and stay-at-home orders. To date, the program has teamed up to sponsor nearly 40 theaters in 30 different states.
